Based on many years of experience with the composite industry, Hans Christian Gabelgaard and Hans Steffen Steffensen founded Jupiter in 1990.

With a strategic focus on the train industry, the company produced composite components for e.g. the Danish IC3 trains.
In 1997, the composite industry in general and Jupiter in specific initiated the use of virtual simulations of 3D composite constructions, hence enabling customers to test the strength and durability of composite material components against especially steel components.

Entering the wind industry in 1997, Jupiter initiated product development of nacelles and spinners for their first wind industry customer, Vestas; and in 1998, Jupiter received their first order. With our many years’ experience with the demanding quality and documentation requirements of the train industry and  with our significant product development capabilities, Jupiter quickly developed a comparative advantage in the less mature wind industry.

Between 2005 and 2009, the company’s position within the wind industry was manifested. Ceasing cooperation with Vestas led the company to target new customers and thus added GE Wind, Siemens Wind Power, Nordex, Goldwind as well as Suzlon to the account portfolio.
